Dora the (blind) Explorer
Dora is blind. Dora doesn’t realize this is any sort of handicap, of course, and spends her time these days running around and playing like any other young, happy, fully-sighted dog would.
Dora is, in all honesty, one of the cutest, happiest, most loving creatures to have ever graced the planet.
Back in January, young Dora was taken from a horrible, abusive background and was nearly euthanized before being rescued by wonderful folks in Juarez, Mexico. She has since been in quarantine getting loved and cared for, awaiting rescue to California.
Dora loves everybody. Just hearing a human voice makes her tail wag. She waits for you to talk to her and then navigates her way to you so skillfully you would swear she could see. Once she arrives she rolls on to her back, exposing her plump little belly and begging for a good tummy rub.
Dora loves other dogs. She plays with any dog willing and able and always allows them to be the dominator while she plays the humble, submissive, coy counterpart. And all dogs love Dora – she can basically charm anything with a pulse.
Dora loves life. She is happy. Really truly happy. She spills over with joy that transmits to anyone she meets. |
