2008 – Our most Compassionate Year Yet!

Dog rescue

2008 promises to be the busiest year CWOB has had to date. Each program area is set to expand as we also develop new campaigns and strategies to help further our efforts on behalf of the animals Mexico.

Check it out!

Sterilization South of the Border

CWOB will host a minimum of 3 spay/neuter week-long spay/neuter clinics south of the border with the goal of sterilizing, vaccinating, deworming, and providing basic health services all free of charge to over 500 animals in the most impoverished regions of Mexico.

CWOB also plans to continue our partnership with veterinarians in Chihuahua, Mexico where we are working hard to improve the quality and quantity of the sterilizations they perform.

CWOB will begin neighborhood sterilization programs wherein particular neighborhoods will be targeted for a few months at a time with the goal of sterilizing all free roaming dogs in that particular area.

International Dog Rescue

We are proud to be continuing our rescue for the 6th year! We have every intention of saving as many lives as we possibly can in 2008.

Humane Euthanasia Program

CWOB plans to continue our work in Chihuahua, Mexico where we have eradicated electrocution! We plan to monitor the animal control centers we are sponsoring, carry out ongoing euthanasia and humane animal handling trainings, and dedicate ourselves to ensuring the animals are being handled and euthanized as humanely as possible.

Plans are also in the works to expand to animal control centers outside of the state of Chihuahua, slowly and steadily spreading our message of humane reform throughout Mexico.

Humane Education

Our humane education programs are bursting at the seams with potential and just waiting to launch in 2008. Our "Sabias Que" campaign barely got underway in '07 and plans are in the works to push it hard in '08.
Additionally, we plan to continue to utilize our spay and neuter clinics as media magnets in Mexico, attracting television, radio, and newspaper reporters. Each clinic gets a great deal of press, enabling us to bring key issues about animal overpopulation, the importance of sterilization, and humane treatment of animals to the Mexican public.
Our humane ed children's activity books will also continue to be handed out along with coloring crayons and other educational pamphlets and materials to children throughout neighborhoods around Mexico.

Project Anapra

2008 is the year we will officially be launching Project Anapra - an innovative new program to improve the lives of animals living in one of the poorest areas in Mexico through sterilization, vaccination, basic veterinary care, deworming and donations of food and basic pet supplies.
