Our humane euthanasia program continues to move forward and huge strides are currently being made within the state of Chihuahua, where we are focusing our efforts. Most recently, the department of health has decided to give the animal control contract for the entire state over to CWOB and two other large Mexican animal protection organizations within the state.

This means that the animal control facilities, previously run by the government in deplorable conditions, will be completely managed by animal welfare organizations with high standards of animal care, handling, and euthanasia.

This is the first time in Mexico’s history that the government has privatized their animal control department and it marks an enormous turn in the right direction for the animals of Mexico.
